October update from our CEO

Summer in the northern hemisphere is an interesting period for us at BRM / RSM.  Our stores are mainly busy renting bikes (and other gear) and so we\’re more focused on providing support than cranking out new features or selling more systems.  What is very satisfying is seeing the usage statistics roll in.  As of the end of August the BRM platform had processed over a quarter of a million reservations; 294,771 worldwide.   That\’s roughly twice the volume of 2019 and 2020 at the same stage of the year.

Having said that we never stop selling!  We\’re often busy selling new BRMs to Australia and New Zealand (covid permitting) and of course, ski shops gearing up for their approaching winters via our sister site rentalshopmanager.com. We have welcomed our first South African customer in the form of Specialized Stellenbosh and on the other side of the Atlantic Specialized Mexico thus furthering our relationship with the brand.

And for the engineering team, well there is never a quiet period. They are continuously working on improving the product and building out new features.

We have been working on some exciting user experience projects, focused on our reservations pages. This has caused a lot of debate throughout the team, we want this to be right as we know how crucial it is for you. We will be releasing further information on this very soon.  A recent survey reached over 2000 of our users and had a 95% positivity rate so we know we\’re on the right track.

Likewise, our long-term project of launching the Worlds best B2C bike rental platform is nearing completion. We are expecting the site to launch in Spring 2022. We see this as a real game-changer for BRM with an influx of attention, new customer and ultimately new business for you. Sign up to our bike.rent mailing list to be the first to hear about launch details.

To support these engineering projects we are looking to double the size of our engineering team. This will give more bandwidth for the continual development we carry out on a weekly basis. Whilst also providing space for big new features to be implemented.

I\’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their continued support and help in making BRM the amazing platform it is today.  I like to think we\’re only getting started!

Thanks,

Doug
