History
About Bike Rental Manager
We’re a distributed team helping people across the world (20+ countries) manage their rental operations. We do that by taking care of all the admin; letting our customers get back to growing and running their businesses.
We believe that at the core of every rental operation is a Venn diagram involving inventory, maintenance and reservation management.
We embrace distribution and remote collaboration as a core value. We have constructed a way of working that leverages platforms like Slack, Jira, Zoom and Freshworks to enable great communication and high productivity.
We believe in small talented teams. Small teams are fast, responsive and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and also leaves room for culture and fun.
We hire the right people with the right skills. For example, as a tech startup we hire the very best programmers but we also hire the most talented people from relevant industry so we can speak the language of our customers and build the right solutions, the right way.
We speak English in team meetings, but members of the team can also speak a growing list of languages (Spanish, French, Swedish, Finnish)

- Working with Java technologies, Google App Engine, Datastore, Cloud Storage, Google Search API, Maven, BigQuery
- Integration with third party systems such as Beamer, Chargebee, Freshsales, Freshdesk, Slack, Lightspeed PoS, Zapier, Firebase
- Agile development, JIRA, GIT, Slack, Postman
- Ideally, additional experience of Angular, Javascript, Web and mobile technologies, WordPress PHP
- Self starter, curious and with an acute attention to detail.
- Diligent and conscientious writing high quality code.
- Willing to learn and contribute to the product evolution.
- Able to work in a predominately remote environment.
This is a remote position – so the person will be working from home for the majority of time. A professional home-working environment with fast reliable internet is therefore a base requirement.
However our technology team is based out of the Greater London (UK) area. So the person will be required to attend occasional face to face meetings in the Great London area. (perhaps every 1-3 months). We anticipate more face to face time being required during the mobilisation phase of the role.
We will therefore consider any and all strong candidates located, by preference, in this order:
- Greater London Area
- wider United Kingdom
- European countries within ‘reach’ of Greater London
We speak English as our language of business. We place a very high value on excellent communication skills;
- voice (and sometimes video) during meetings
- written – documentation, status reports, slack and other tools etc
We therefore require a proficiency level of complete fluency or above.
